Mr. Syed Shahzad

Mr Syed Ali Shahzad is a Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon at Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Trust. He completed Basic Surgical training in Oxford Deanery and Higher speciality training in General, Laparoscopic and Robotic Urological Surgery in the West Midlands. He achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Urol) and European Board of Urology (FEBU). Mr Syed Ali Shahzad has also undertaken various specialist and scientific courses in Robotic, laparoscopic and laser procedures in Europe, South Africa and USA. He was awarded Expert user statuts in Rezum ( Steam ablation for enlarged prostate). He performed a pivotal role in introducing Aqablation ( Water jet abaltion for enlarged prostate). He is involved in Research and education. He is lead for Specialist Cancer Multideciplinary Meeting ( MDT) and Service lead for Renal ( Kidney) service. He was intrumental in establishing Remote proctoring for DaVinci Robotic surgery at the NHS Trust, an important milestone in training of future Robotic surgeons. He is Senior academy tutor for medical students and is Principle investigator in research trials. Mr Syed Ali Shahzad assesses and treats patients with a range of urological conditions. He is expert in minimally invasive Robotic and laparoscopic surgery for Kidneys disorders. He offers laser surgery for prostate and stones, Rezum and Aquablation for Prostate enlargement. His services also include management of Recurrent Urinary tract Infections, diagnosis and management of haematuria ( Blood in water), raised PSA, erectile dysfunction, tight foreskin, epididymal cysts, fluid around the testes (hydrocoele), vasectomy for contraception, laparoscopic repair of varicocele. Mr Syed Ali Shahzad also specialises in the management of overactive bladder including botox injections into the bladder under local or general anaesthetic. He has specialist interest in conditions effecting bladder health leading to increased frquency and pain. Mr Syed Ali Shahzad is actively involved in teaching and training of medical students. He is a member of numerous National and International medical bodies including Royal College of surgeons of England, American Urological Asscociation, Royal society of Medicine, British Association of Urology and European Association of Urology.
