Mr. Peter Cooke

Mr Peter Cooke specialises in diagnostic urology, benign prostate and scrotal surgery and prostate and bladder cancer. He is a leading urological surgeon and cancer specialist at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust with over 20 years of experience and is highly specialized in laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He is the Clinical Lead in Urology for the Black Country and West Birmingham Integrated Care System. Former roles include Clinical Director in Urology, chair of the Trust Senior Medical Staff Committee, and chair of the West Midlands Cancer Alliance Urology Expert Advisory Group. Mr Cooke has a special interest in the treatment of prostate disease and prostate cancer and is ranked among the top 20 prostate cancer surgeons in the UK. He has personally performed over 1500 complex urological cases, including over 1000 robotic radical prostatectomies. He was the first surgeon in any specialty to offer robot-assisted surgery in the Midlands region, and he led the introduction of robotic surgery at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust in 2010/11. In 2025 he became the first to offer Aquablation for benign prostate enlargement in the Birmingham and Black Country area. He founded Midlands Urology in 2007, and has build a thriving and innovative private practice with his specialist colleagues. Mr Cooke is highly respected in his field and has numerous publications in respected international journals, including The Lancet. He has presented his work at national and international meetings in Europe and the USA. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, the British Association of Urological Surgeons, the European Association of Urology, and the American Urological Association.
