Dr. Hanan Goldberg

Hanan Goldberg, MD, MSc, is a fellowship-trained urologic oncologist, academic surgeon, and physician leader based in Upstate New York. He serves as Chief of Upstate Urology at Mohawk Valley Health System and as Assistant Professor of Urology at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he is recognized for leadership in urologic oncology, commitment to academic excellence, and dedication to expanding access to high-quality specialty care. Dr. Goldberg completed advanced fellowship training in Uro-oncology at the University of Toronto and has since developed a broad clinical and scholarly portfolio focused on prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers. His work spans clinical trials, translational research, cancer biomarkers, prostate cancer genetics, and outcomes research. Dr. Goldberg is also very active in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and is one of the first surgeons to bring Aquablation to the Upstate New-York region. He has performed hundreds of successful procedures and is an innovator in the region. He has contributed extensively to the medical literature with over 120 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact urologic and oncologic journals, professional education, and the mentorship of trainees and junior colleagues. He remains actively engaged in regional and national Urology meetings and serves on the editorial board of several high-impact journals.
